Alpine circuit excursion in the Catalan Pyrenees.

Ascending to the Puigmal summitThis circuit excursion starts on the high plateau of Fontalba, situated above the pretty Pyrenean village of Queralbs. We’ll ascend the peak of Puigmal (2,913m) and come down the other side to reach the sanctuary of Núria, returning from there to our point of departure. The alpine atmosphere is evident at these heights, we’ll cross through green meadows where cows and horses regularly pasture; great stone escarpments and green woods of black pine trees. And if we get very hot, we can freshen up in the torrents of crystal clear water that pours down the mountains! Half way along we can visit the sanctuary at Núria. Although this trek of around 6 hours demands good physical fitness, it doesn’t present any dangers and is ideal for mountain sportsmen, families or groups of friends.

One day return excursions, starting off from your accommodation point, or outings of 2 or more days, including a stay in a hotel or CRP.
