Intense volcanic eruptions and violent earthquakes rearranged the Garrotxa landscape in those dark days of long ago. However, when visiting the region nowadays, one is enchanted by the ordered fields, hamlets where time seems to have stood still and by its natural charm. The landscape reminds us of its fiery past, with volcanic cones that you can visit. At the same time, luxuriant woods make us forget that perhaps 10,000 years ago, molten lava ran through here instead. I suggest a simple walk of about 9km, over 4 hours, when one can get to know and admire this very singular environment.
